Artist Book

1. House

This was my first idea. I started building with volsa wood. I made furnitures, windows and all sides of the wall. I decided to ahve one wall using clear plastic etching plate so that it is visible to see the inside. As I was upto the point of designing the walls and the outside, I was just totally stuck. I didn't know what to do.. like a mind blank? Lucky there were lots of time left before the due date, I think because there were fair bit of time.. thats why I changed my artist book. But I don't regret changing it because I like what I'm doing now.

2. Half House Box

Well, I thought it would be easier to have a smaller house.. but ! NO This is not what I wanted..I guess the idea of house just doesn't work with me, I wanted to do pages, not design a house I guess.. heheheh anyway so I stuffed this idea as well..

3. The Final Box Concerntia Pages

Well.. This was my final product, a box containing concentina pages, total of 8 pages, 16 different sides plus two extra pages of Korean Map (own drawing). There are sections of pages, Korean life, Australian Life, My dreams and My hobbies/ favourites. Mostly it is picture collage, but it has turbs rubbing, gesso, other materials used etc. I made it simple as I don't like complicated things, it's very compacted, but if you open it, it stretches out like my life.

The front of the box is a photo with the clear etching plate cut into shape and stuck onto. The photo is photoshoped by myself, it's a special little photo as it represents me. The background has a moon, meaning it's night because I love the moon, and I like night better than day, the background house is a korean traditional house, representing my nationality, the woman is wearing a fusion korean traditional dress called 'Fusion Hanbok', its a wedding dress, also representing my nationality but one of my dream is to wear a fusion weddingdress for my wedding. The back brush writing is 'Hope' in korean, and the music notes are in the bottom, as I love listening to music but not a music person, that's why its at the bottom, and it's only few. I decided to put this in front of my box to show that this is me, like looking into a television, these represent me, and inside this box, there are more about me that you don't know.
